Ah, installing Acrobat Distiller and PageMaker 6.5 so that I can convert the files the one person that still uses PageMaker needs me to make into PDFs. Deal is, you have to have a postscript printer installed to install Acrobat 4. So I had to crack that nut first. Think I might have it now.
Updated the Fountain of Knowledge layout. Was more removing the picture and making the page simpler. Looking to see if my VCR will play PAL tapes. Odds are not likely. Ran across this list of Windows file extensions with executable code at techtv. The value of the list is these are the file types virus writers use to…
Bandits was a trip. Funny movie. Too bad Erin couldn’t go. Hillarious. Feels like my memory is dying. Things I know I should know, like the director of Men in Black is Barry Sonnenfeld not Barry Levinson. That the drug is Ginko Biloba not Ginko Balboa. At least I don’t munge / forget important things like…
Got the Macadoo picture for Mac. Will drop the film off for developing this afternoon. Have to pick up the roll from last week. Why is it that the cover artist is so difficult to find on a book? You have to know to flip inside the cover and scan the credits page to even…

Couple of newly discovered vulnerabilities for Windows users. Excel and Powerpoint documents are not safe any more. Specially crafted dword (dotless) URLs (dword URL for VSU) can operate in the local intranet security zone instead of the general internet zone in Internet Explorer. Most people have the local intranet zone set to medium-low level and…
I’ve been a little lax about getting online to update this. Part computer screwup/ part being too busy. Thankfully, all that is over and now I can get back to posting. My family was in town for my gandmother’s 80th birthday. Got to see almost all of my cousins and engage in great conversation over…
The Spectator web site is updated… here is the article about viruses where I was interviewed. Horrible picture, I know. UPDATE 2011-MAR-27: link to article removed as VSU Spectator archives only go back to 2006 not 2001. ouch… my hard drive crapped out. Bad cluster on the REGISTRY! Means Windows can’t boot. And I was gonna do…
Made the school paper today. I was interviewed about viruses. Mostly about how they affect the school and how students can protect themselves.
