The swamps in south Georgia burn on their own. The US Forestry Service will intentionally used controlled burns to get rid of the highly flammable underbrush. A controlled burn ought not to have gotten so high up the tree or so hot as to kill it.

Over the past few years there have been several out of control fires. They dropped ash on cities hundreds of miles distant. The ground is now very good for plants and trees to grow. Nature never fails to impress me.

Went for a walk this morning

I encountered the above on my walk this morning. The kudzu is on the south (right) side of creek bank.

Yes, I took my camera on the walk. I think it was only a mile though mostly uphill one way. By the time I got to the top of the hill, I was thoroughly winded. So, that confirms I am now extremely out of shape again.

Guess, this needs to be fixed.
