What's the most drastic change you've ever made to your appearance?

For a few weeks I wore contacts. People really complimented my improved appearance (I've always worn dorky glasses). All my high school girl classmates started paying me real attention. At the time I really thought I would wear contacts for the rest off my life. Then my contacts caused intense pain in my eye and even scratched my cornea. I've never seriously considered going back to contacts.
