Dreams, for me, seem to be based on insubstantiality, so they would form goals with unrealistic ends. My head is in the clouds. Dreams become very fragile when turned into something for me to try to base a goal on. I have never gotten the good outcome of that. By refusing to dream unrealistic insubstancial wisps of hope into being, I am in turn trying to protect myself from the crash and burn syndrome I have prone to for years.
