Its funny I&#8217;ve been seeing references lately to these to describe&#8230;.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Email &#8211; Like Skinner&#8217;s pigeons, we hit the button to check for new messages hoping to get something. The <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Reinforcement#Schedules_of_reinforcement\">intermittent reinforcement<\/a> of not getting a new message with every click just helps strengthen the behavior.<\/li>\n<li>Twitter &#8211; Similar to email, click the button and hope for something good.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<div>Are we our habits?
