So here are the movies coming soon this summer I want to see. After compiling the list, it is interesting how the ones I most want to see are all based on comics, graphic novels, short stories.<\/p>\n<p>As a kid, I could connive my grandmother to let me see every summer blockbuster in the theater. And I wanted to see them all. Lately, I have not seen that many in the theater. Looks like that is changing for the better.<\/p>\n<h3>Matin\u00c3\u00a9e\u00c2\u00a0or better:<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>June 3: <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/trailers.apple.com\/trailers\/fox\/xmenfirstclass\/\">X-Men First Class<\/a><\/strong> &#8211; When Mom and I went to Jekyll Island back in December, we saw them working on a set next our hotel. There were also lots of palm trees in boxes near our hotel. So I figure JI represents Cuba. Really it is the &#8220;Filmed in Georgia&#8221; aspect that most compels me. Well, that and I like the X-Men, especially Magneto, despite the butchering it repeatedly.<\/li>\n<li>June 10: <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.super8-movie.com\/\">Super 8<\/a><\/strong> &#8211; In general, I guess I like JJ Abrams television and movies. So I&#8217;ll go see this one too. \ud83d\ude42<\/li>\n<li>June 17: <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/trailers.apple.com\/trailers\/wb\/greenlantern\/\">Green Lantern<\/a><\/strong> &#8211; I never read the GL or Justice League of America comics. The various JLA Warner Brothers cartoons were pretty good. Prior, Batman was the only JL member I liked. I came to better appreciate others through these shows and movies, especially GL.<\/li>\n<li>July 22 <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/captainamerica.marvel.com\">Captain America<\/a><\/strong> &#8211; This is a must see in the build up to the Avengers movie.<\/li>\n<li>July 29th <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/trailers.apple.com\/trailers\/universal\/cowboysandaliens\/\">Cowboys and Aliens<\/a><\/strong> &#8211; AW asked if they based this movie\u00c2\u00a0on something when we saw this trailer. I told her I thought it a comic. Okay, so it was a <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Cowboys_%26_Aliens_(graphic_novel)\">graphic novel<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li>August 19:\u00c2\u00a0<strong><a href=\"http:\/\/trailers.apple.com\/trailers\/lions_gate\/conanthebarbarian\/\">Conan the Barbarian<\/a><\/strong> &#8211; The Ahnold ones defined much of my vision about sword and sorcery. As a Dungeon Master, when I felt writer&#8217;s block, this is a movie I would watch to help me.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Dollar theater or Netflix:<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>May 20: <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/trailers.apple.com\/trailers\/disney\/piratesofthecaribbeanonstrangertides\/\">Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides<\/a><\/strong><\/li>\n<li>July 1:\u00c2\u00a0<strong><a href=\"http:\/\/trailers.apple.com\/trailers\/paramount\/transformersdarkofthemoon\/\">Transformers: Dark of the Moon<\/a><\/strong><\/li>\n<li>July 15: <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/trailers.apple.com\/trailers\/wb\/harrypotterandthedeathlyhallowspart2\/\">Harry Potter and Deathly Hallows Part 2<\/a><\/strong> &#8211; though I have yet to see part one.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The commentary my friends made during the trailers in front of Thor inspired this post.
