My dad had gotten a cook he befriended at a Chinese restaurant to teach him how to prepare it. Dad explained the seawead. At the time the raw fish didn't bother me so much as the seaweed (not withstanding the chatter about ice cream being made from seaweed). In college, the raw fish took over as the reason I wasn't excited about trying sushi.

A few years after college, I decided as a matter of personal ethics that for me to say I didn't like something, I really ought to know for certain rather than basing it on what I might or might not like. I think this came about from thinking I didn't like asparagus but realizing I do when I tried it. To which I didn't really have a good response. So here is a list of things I like which I would not have thought I like:

Sushi

Calamari

Asparagus

Brussels sprouts

Yellow squash

Cauliflower

I don't like all sushi.
