You’ve gotta be kidding me! I understand the live action Transformers<\/span> movie<\/a>.\u00c2\u00a0 As the 30 Somethings start to hold the reigns in Hollywood, movies start to reflect our nostalgia. I was totally into it. I saw it twice in the theater. \ud83d\ude00 What surprises me about the same being done with Robotech<\/span> is the poor quality of the story, characters, and acting (one actress plays Lisa in ep 1, another most of the rest of the series, and a third in the final few). I watched the whole series in college for the first time and have the cartoons on DVD. The DVDs I have watched them of once. I read all 20 something books 4 times through in middle school, so I know the story line front, back, and sideways. I even read one of the comic books.<\/p>\n

Spider-Man<\/em> star Tobey Maguire will produce and may star in a film based on the classic SF anime Robotech<\/em>, according to The Hollywood Reporter<\/em>.<\/p>\n

Warner Brothers Pictures picked up the rights to Robotech<\/em>, which features giant robots known as mechas. Maguire is producing through his Maguire Entertainment banner and is eyeing the lead role in what the studio plans as an SF franchise a la Paramount’s hit Transformers<\/em>.<\/p>\n

Drew Crevello also is producing through his Supercool Hollywood BigTime Productions. Craig Zahler has been tapped to write the screenplay.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
