  • Developed scripts to automate IMS and ICGORLDI data into a Blackboard Learning System Vista Enterprise License 3 Learning Management System. Includes XML for creating and enrolling administrative accounts.
  • Developed Oracle SQL queries, statspacks, and log analyses to report on academic or performance forensics. Includes confirming cheating, role abuse, and slow functions.
  • Altered configurations in Oracle, Weblogic, and Vista to restore stability or improve performance. Includes splitting 2 sites into 4 by cloning databases and fresh application node installs.
  • Installed Oracle 9i and 10g, Vista 3 and 8, and various Powerlinks (MyMathLab, Wimba Voice Tools / Classroom, and custom Powerlinks).
  • Managed technical support tickets with vendor. Established new procedures to smooth implementation into production.
  • Planned architecture for ten production and five development Vista 8 environments. Administered four production and up to four development Vista 3 environments. User base is > 180,000 users, 32 institutions and 9 projects, and > 30,000 classes.
  • Developed a load testing plan for Sungard Banner hosting. Load tested to identify configuration tweaks to ensure environments would perform within expectations with Openload. Evaluated HP LoadRunner for purchase to do load testing. Installed and provided support to on-site consultant using LoadRunner for PeopleSoft load testing.

    Web Design
  • Worked with Public Relations, Advancement, Admissions, and Business Services to locate a new web site design. Coordinated conversion of design on over 50,000 web pages across 8 web servers and 88 departments. In a previous redesign, created 6 mock-ups (one available in portfolio).
  • Directly created, redesigned, or maintained 41 areas of web site for departments, professional organizations, projects, or major events at VSU.
  • Taught ~300 staff, faculty, or students one-on-one or in workshops to create web pages in Microsoft FrontPage, Netscape Composer, Adobe GoLive, or Dreamweaver.
  • Supervised 3 student workers who maintained department web sites, provided one-on-one training, provided support to employees or other students responsible for web sites, and fixed problems with web sites.
  • Designed (or participated in design) of over 30 online surveys.

  • Web Server
  • Created scripts to create new directories, change permissions for directories, and delivering reports about directory for main web server (Apache/PHP/MySQL). Created directories and managed permissions in ISS on Windows 2000.
  • Created scripts to generate customized reports using linklint and Analogn for broken links and web site stats for each directory.
  • Implemented security measures to form processor scripts to prevent abuse by spammers.
  • Installed, re-developed, and administered a PHP and MySQL voting application for student elections. Developed another PHP/MySQL voting application to handle Homecoming elections (vote for 5 out of pool not 1). One of many small online web applications to support university needs.
  • Implemented forms for management of requests, over 100 FAQs for self-help,a and private tutorials for Helpdesk staff to guide in handling web issues.

  • WebCT
  • Technical coordinator for migration from WebCT CE 3.8 to WebCT Vista 3.0.2. Over 250 WebCT courses to WebCT Vista sections converted. Assisted DBA by checking logs and a few administrative tasks. Integrated WebCT Vista with Luminis and Banner. Created scripts to mostly automate integration. Only component not automated was running an ICGORLDI Banner job.
  • Taught ~140 faculty to use WebCT CE or WebCT Vista.

  • Luminis
  • Assisted with Luminis III implementation. Assisted with Luminis III and SCT Banner integration. Created or approved Luminis groups and calendars.
  • Programmed a few components of a system to provide email accounts to every student. Worked with others for the logic.
  • Converted Course Catalog to HTML (later would change to PDF).

9/1995-6/1998, 8/1998-12/1999 as Student Assistant - Government Documents of Odum Library at Valdosta State University, Valdosta, GA 31698.

Opened shipment boxes from U.S. Government Printing Office. Processed items to maintain records of items in collection and labels to identify items. Shelved items in collection. Performed shelf reading to ensure collection remained organized. Assisted librarians with locating items in Government Documents collection.

Due to 3 of the 7 librarians leaving, Reference hired me to work at the Reference desk during the search to replace the missing staff. Assisted walk-ups and phone calls in use of library's reference area. Checked out reserved reference items. Shelved books in reference area. Assisted in basic computer assistance problems. Assisted Librarians in training of new Librarians after they were hired. Supervised 1-2 students while working at the desk.

6/1995-8/1995 as Library Assistant I Temporary - Reference of Odum Library at Valdosta State University, Valdosta, GA 31698.

Hired as temporary staff over the summer to cover the work of several students wishing to leave for the Summer and return in the Fall. Performed my regular duties for 2 Reference Student Assistants (see below), as 1 Government Documents Student Assistant (see above), and 1 Inter-Library Loan Student Assistant. Helped install a new computer lab.

New duties included: Checked request queue for Inter-Library Loan. Located books in General or Periodical collections. Made photocopies of articles for Inter-Library Loan.

3/1995-6/1995 as Reference Student Assistant - Reference of Odum Library at Valdosta State University, Valdosta, GA 31698.

Shelved books removed from Reference collection. Placed in drawer microfiche removed from ERIC collection. Answered inquiries about where to locate items.
