Administer and oversee maintenance of main and department web sites (see my portfolio). Supervise 3 student workers who maintain department web sites, provide one-on-one training, and fix problems with web sites. Provide support to employees responsible for departmental web sites. Administer main university web server and supporting web-based services including WebCT Vista 3 learning management system and Luminis III.3 web portal with over 25,000 users each. Started as a Cooperative Education student. Hired as Temporary Staff. Hired as Permanent Staff, then promoted and reclassified.

ACCOMPLISHMENTS
  • Directly created, redesigned, or maintained 41 distinct web areas for VSU web presence.
  • Created small online web applications to support directions university wished to move.
  • Taught ~300 staff, faculty, or students to create web pages in Microsoft FrontPage, Netscape Composer, Adobe GoLive, or Dreamweaver.
  • Designed 6 mock-ups for past web site redesigns (one available in portfolio).
  • Designed (or participated in design) of over 30 online surveys.
  • Converted Course Catalog to HTML (later would change to PDF).
  • Automated most server administration tasks with shell and Perl scripts.
  • Initiated 2 conversions of all university pages (50,000+) to a consistent look and feel.
  • Implemented customized reports for broken links and web site stats for each web site.
  • Implemented security measures to form processor scripts to prevent abuse by spammers.
  • Organized and implemented conversion of 250+ WebCT courses to WebCT Vista sections.
  • Taught ~140 faculty to use WebCT or WebCT Vista.
  • Programmed components of a system to provide email accounts to every student.
  • Assisted with Luminis III implementation.
  • Assisted with Luminis III and SCT Banner integration.
  • Integrated WebCT Vista with Luminis and Banner.
  • Written ~100 frequently asked question entries and ~40 step-by-step guides.
